Wings For Christ Board Names Missions Coordinator -

Wings For Christ would like to introduce the Monte Michael family. The Wings Board of Directors has responded to continuous needs on the mission field in the southern United States and Central America. Monte has a long history of Christian service in aviation through his efforts with his church, Wings For Christ, and other local ministries.

Therefore in light of God’s calling to this need, and Monte’s exceptional qualifications in the ministry and as a commercial pilot and flight instructor, Wings For Christ has called Monte and his wife Sandy to the full time staff position of Missions Coordinator. His duties include:

- Evangelism and ministry support, such as transporting speakers to revivals and conferences -
- Transporting supplies and people to and from remote locations -
- Networking with other missionaries and relief groups to identify ways to assist and support other missionaries in the field -
- Training missionary pilots -
- Maintaining a network of pilots and aircraft owners to support mission transport needs -
- Preaching and organizing missionary trips for other church groups

For example, in support of other missionaries in the field, Monte flew down to McAllen and picked up Chihuahuan Connection driver Jim Richards and delivered him to Waco in 2.5 hours, where he was rested, fresh, and ready to drive a semi-trailer to Oklahoma City. There he was able to pick up 43,000 lbs of milk and deliver to food pantries along the Mexican border. If Monte had not be able to fly Jim, and meet the need in that window of opportunity, the milk supply would have been diverted to other locations and not have met the needs of the most needy people. During this same time, Sandy got involved with a clothing ministry called Ministeros Vision Christiana who collect clothing from local churches and distribute to needy Indians in the Mexican interior. These trips not only serve those in need but expand the ministry through additional contacts with those on the front lines on the missionary field. People like Monte and Sandy are needed to maintain the lines of supply and communication with the home churches, prayer partners, and supporters.

Monte and Sandy currently live in Franklin, TX with their children Robert, Eric, Ruth, Issac, and Andrew. They are active in their home church at Franklin Worship Center where they help with praise and worship. Sandy is involved in the Ladies Ministry of Prayer and is a prayer counselor with Harvest Laborers Ministry. Monte was saved in 1972, licensed to preach at First Baptist Church, Franklin, TX in 1978, and ordained as a minister in Grace Gospel Church in Axtell, TX in 1988.

Monte and Sandy have a wonderful heart for serving others and especially want to focus on evangelism. They believe that all the ministry efforts are really about saving souls. They want to be on the front lines of spreading the Gospel, as the tip of the spear. They are encouraged by the verses:

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed ? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard ? And how shall they hear without a preacher ? And how shall they preach, except they be sent ? As it is written, how beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things ! (Romans 10:13-15)
